Deep Contemplation: Let God’s Words Transform You

Today’s One Year Bible Verses: Ezekiel 1:1-3:15, Hebrews 3:1-19, Psalm 104:1-23, Proverbs 26:24-26

Let It Sink In

Then he added, ‘Son of man, let all my words sink deep into your own heart first. Listen to them carefully for yourself.’” — Ezekiel 3:10 (NLT)

For the last few years, I’ve asked God for a specific word to guide me through the coming year—a word to grow by, ponder, apply, and press into. This year, as Rosh Hashanah began, I asked again. The word He gave me was “contemplate.”

To contemplate means to consider something long and seriously, with quiet intention. It’s more than just thinking—it’s sitting with something, letting it move through your heart and soul until it becomes a part of you.

God has already been working with me on listening and taming my tongue. I’ve learned that speaking less often means growing more. But now, He’s layering on something deeper—contemplation. He’s saying what He once told Ezekiel: “Let all My words sink deep into your own heart first. Listen to them carefully for yourself.”

How often do we hear a word from the Lord and immediately rush to share it, teach it, or post it—without ever letting it truly marinate in our own heart first? Without reflection, there’s no revelation. Without contemplation, there’s no transformation.

God wants His Word—written and rhema—to take root in us, not just pass through us. This is where the mysteries of Heaven are revealed and where true change begins. Paul echoes this in Hebrews 3:1: “Think carefully about this Jesus whom we declare to be God’s messenger and High Priest.” And again later: “Today when you hear His voice, don’t harden your hearts.”

Will we stop and truly receive what He’s saying? Will we pause long enough to let His words refine us before we try to reform others?

This is where the supernatural shift happens. This is where identity is refined, direction is clarified, and hearts are transformed. 💎

Action (5 Minutes with God)

Pick one verse or rhema word God has spoken to you recently. Don’t just write it down—sit with it. Ponder it quietly. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you how it applies to you before you try to teach or share it. Let it sink deep. Write it down. Live it.

Prayer

Lord, I don’t want to rush past what You are saying to me. Slow me down. Teach me to listen, to ponder, and to receive Your Word deep into my spirit. I surrender my tendency to speak too soon, and I ask for a heart that contemplates with reverence. Let Your Word change me from the inside out. In Jesus’ name, amen.
