Faith In Action
“You were blameless in all you did from the day you were created until the day evil was found in you.” –Ezekiel 28:15
The King of Tyre was rich in glory—beautiful, blameless, and ordained by God as the mighty angelic guardian. He lacked nothing. But somewhere along the way, pride slithered into his heart and corrupted his wisdom. He began to see himself as the source instead of the steward. What was meant to reflect God’s glory became a monument to himself.
This same pride destroyed Cain. He offered God what he thought best—rejecting the faith that leads to righteousness. He saw worship as an obligation, not a revelation. He lacked the one thing Abel had: faith that unlocks understanding. Abel, by faith, knew a blood sacrifice was required. He didn’t guess—he discerned. And that discernment came through faith (see Hebrews 11).
We often forget that faith isn’t just blind hope—it’s clear sight into the unseen realm. It’s confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see (Hebrews 11:1). Abel’s offering was accepted because he saw what God required. Cain’s was rejected because he assumed what God desired. Pride always assumes. Faith always seeks.
The same contrast is seen between the King of Tyre and men like Abraham and Moses. Abraham was asked to offer his son—the very promise God gave him. Yet he didn’t cling to what he could see. He believed God could raise the dead if necessary. Moses kept right on going because he kept his eyes on the One who is invisible (Hebrews 11:27). They walked in humility, not presumption. That’s faith.
Psalm 111 reminds us, “All He does is just and good… His commandments are trustworthy… They are forever true, to be obeyed faithfully and with integrity.” God’s track record is flawless. The question isn’t whether He’s worthy of trust—it’s whether we’ll humble ourselves enough to trust Him.
We are surrounded by splendor, favor, and spiritual riches from the Lord. But what will we do with what we’ve been given? Will we guard our hearts against pride? Or will we walk in reverent faith, eyes locked on the invisible God, trusting His ways even when they don’t make sense?
The King of Tyre was anointed—but pride took him down. Abraham was tested—but faith lifted him up.

Action (5 Minutes with God)
Spend 5 minutes with God today and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any areas where pride has crept in—where you’ve started relying on your own strength or assumed your way is better than God’s.
Write down anything the Lord brings to your mind. Confess it. Repent. Humble yourself before pride leads to a fall.
Then, ask the Lord:
- “What do You want me to know about that?”
- Journal what He whispers through the Holy Spirit.
- Then ask, “What do You want me to do?”
Journal what He says—then do it!
Let today be a day where faith presides in your heart – giving you full access to His Kingdom.
Prayer
Lord, You have given me more than I deserve—gifts, callings, and grace upon grace. Help me not to treat Your blessings as if they were my own doing. Expose pride in me and purify my heart. Like Abraham and Moses, I want to walk by faith, keeping my eyes on You even when the path isn’t clear. Teach me to trust You deeply and obey You fully. In Jesus’ name, amen.
