Approved Citizens of Heaven — Entering God’s Kingdom Through Faith

Today’s One Year Bible Verses: Ezekiel 44:1-45:12, 1 Peter 1:1-12, Psalm 119:17-32, Proverbs 28:8-10

No Longer a Foreigner

“No foreigners, uncircumcised in heart and flesh, are to enter my sanctuary, not even the foreigners who live among the Israelites.” –Ezekiel 44:9 (NLT)

We were all once outsiders—foreigners to the Kingdom of Heaven, strangers to the covenant promises of God. Ezekiel 44:9 is a sobering reminder that without surrender, we cannot enter His sanctuary. God’s presence isn’t for the casually curious or the half-committed. It’s reserved for those who have been transformed—set apart by covenant.

Under the old covenant, the requirement was circumcision of the flesh. But under the new covenant, it’s the circumcision of the heart (Romans 2:29)—a heart that has been cut away from sin and fully surrendered to Jesus Christ.

1 Peter 1 reveals the miracle of this transformation. Peter writes to believers living as “foreigners,” yet fully adopted into God’s family. Though scattered and strange in this world, they are known, chosen, and made holy by the Spirit. They are obedient and cleansed by the blood of Jesus. Through God’s great mercy, they’ve been born again—into a living hope and a priceless inheritance.

We don’t gain access by trying harder or being better. We enter because we’ve been made new by Christ – Because we believe. Because we’ve surrendered. And because our hearts are marked by Him.

But without that transformation, there is no access. No inheritance. No entry.

So check your heart: Have you surrendered? Are you living like a citizen of Heaven or still clinging to the ways of this world? 💎

Action (5 Minutes with God)

Take 5 minutes with God today and ask Him:

  • “Lord, what do You want me to know about this today?”
    • Journal what He whispers by His Holy Spirit
  • Then ask, “What do You want me to do?”
    • Journal what He whispers – then do it!

Let Him speak life and truth into you.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for calling me out of foreignness and into Your family. I surrender all—my plans, my past, and my pride. Circumcise my heart. Mark me as Yours. Fill me with Your Spirit and help me to live fully as one adopted into Your Kingdom. I receive the inheritance of hope and holiness that You’ve promised, and I walk forward no longer as a stranger—but as Your own. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
