Today’s One Year Bible Verses: Zechariah 14:1-21, Revelation 20:1-15, Psalm 148:1-14, Proverbs 31:8-9
Obedience Is Key To Success
When I asked the Lord what He wanted me to teach today, He spoke clearly:
“Obedience is key to success. I never ask anything bad of you—everything is for your good. If you obey, you will obtain the blessings stored up. If not, there is no promise.”
Scripture often speaks plainly about this truth, even when it makes us uncomfortable. In Zechariah 14, we see the Lord coming to reign on the earth. His rule brings restoration, justice, and peace—but it also reveals a sobering reality: those who choose to oppose Him will face the consequences of that decision. Not because God is cruel, but because He honors human choice.
Revelation 20 echoes this same truth. The dragon is seized. Evil is judged. The books are opened. Every person who has lived is brought before the Great White Throne, and each one is judged according to truth. This is not meant to terrify us—it is meant to awaken us. God’s justice is not unpredictable or unjust. It is righteous, final, and fair.
What we must understand is this: God’s promises are sure—for both the righteous and the wicked.
But the promise of blessing, protection, and life belongs to those who choose obedience.
Obedience is not about fear. It is about trust.
God never asks us to obey Him so He can harm us. He asks because He sees what we cannot. His commands flow from love, not control. Every instruction is designed for our good, our protection, and our future. When we obey, we step into blessings that are already prepared. When we refuse, there is simply no promise attached—only the natural result of walking apart from Him.
The Lord does not force allegiance. He invites it. He makes the way clear and says, “Choose life.” Obedience aligns us with His heart, His protection, and His eternal kingdom. Resistance places us outside of that covering—not because He pushes us away, but because we walk away ourselves.
God’s reign is coming. His justice will stand. And His mercy is still extended today.
The question before us is not whether God is faithful—He always is.
The question is whether we will trust Him enough to obey. 💎
Action (5 Minutes with God)
Take five minutes with God today and ask Him:
- “Lord, what do You want me personally to know about this today?”
- Journal what He whispers by His Holy Spirit.
- Then ask, “What do You want me to do?”
- Journal what He whispers – then do it!
Let today be a day of alignment, not pressure—of willing surrender, not fear.
Prayer
Lord,
You are faithful, just, and good in all Your ways. Thank You that You never ask anything of me that is not for my benefit and protection. Help me trust Your heart when I don’t fully understand Your ways. I choose obedience, not out of fear, but out of love and trust in You. Align my heart with Yours, guide my steps, and lead me into the blessings You have prepared. I place my life under Your loving authority. Amen.
