Living in the Presence of the Lord: A Chain Reaction of Faith

Today’s One Year Bible Verses: Genesis 23:1-24:51, Matthew 8:1-17, Psalm 9:13-20, Proverbs 3:1-6

A Legacy of Faith Passed Down

“The Lord, in whose presence I have lived…” (Genesis 24:40)

Abraham was highly honored among men, entrusted with great wealth, and walked in confident faith—not because he was perfect, but because he lived in the presence of the Lord. He didn’t merely believe about God; he knew Him. He walked with a deep love, reverence, and understanding that allowed him to trust God fully, even when he could not see the outcome. Because Abraham knew God’s character, he could move forward in faith without fear, confident that the Lord would not fail him.

That kind of faith doesn’t stay contained—it multiplies. Abraham’s life became a testimony to everyone around him. His servant moved with confidence because he trusted his master, who trusted his Master—God Himself. At the well, God met that servant faithfully, just as promised, and Rebekah became part of that same chain reaction of faith. She believed, acted, and carried the testimony home, where her family also recognized the hand of the Lord and responded in faith.

We see this same pattern in the ministry of Jesus. The leper believed and was cleansed. The Roman officer trusted Jesus’ authority and saw his servant healed. The demon-possessed and the sick encountered His goodness and walked away restored. Each one believed, acted in faith, and received the desire of their heart. Encounter led to trust. Trust led to action. Action led to transformation.

David understood this well when he prayed, “Save me, so I can praise you publicly at Jerusalem’s gates.” (Psalm 9:14). Faith that is lived in God’s presence becomes a witness that cannot stay silent. And Proverbs reminds us today, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.” (Proverbs 3:5–6)

Spending time with Him is the greatest thing we can do. This is where faith is born, strengthened, and multiplied. Everything changes when we live in His presence—because faith begins and ends with Him. 💎

Action (5 Minutes with God)

Today, choose to live intentionally in the presence of the Lord.
Set aside 5 minutes to be with God – not just for answers, provision, or direction, but simply to know Him. Invite Him in. Then ask Him:

  • Lord, what do You want me to know today?”
    • Journal what He whispers by the Holy Spirit.
  • Then ask Him, “What do You want me to do?”
    • Journal what He whispers – then do it!

Let today be a day your faith becomes relational, not just intellectual.

Prayer

Lord, I want to live in Your presence.
Teach me to know You—not just know about You. Help me trust You fully, even when I don’t understand the path ahead. As Abraham walked with You, teach me to walk with You daily—listening, obeying, and believing. Let my life be a testimony that draws others toward faith in You. I place my heart, my steps, and my future in Your hands. Amen.
