God Of The Impossible
All divine things come only from God.
After all, “divine” actually means what proceeds directly from God Himself—His authority, power, and life—supremely good, heavenly, and wholly beyond human or demonic ability to produce or imitate. Divinity cannot be reproduced by human effort, religious striving, or spiritual imitation. Any attempt—by man or even by demons—to manufacture divine power is only a counterfeit, and every counterfeit eventually fails.
Today’s scripture shows us a consistent pattern of God’s divinity in thee lives of His people:
- God’s people ask.
- God answers.
- God alone performs what no one else can.
Isaac pleaded with the Lord for Rebekah because she was unable to conceive, and the Lord answered his prayer—she became pregnant with twins (Genesis 25:21).
When the pregnancy became difficult and confusing, Rebekah went back to God and asked what was happening. God answered again, revealing His purpose before it could be seen, and everything unfolded exactly as He said (Genesis 25:22–24).
We see the same pattern in the Gospels. When the disciples were terrified in the storm, they didn’t solve it themselves—they woke Jesus and cried out to Him. He answered by corrected their fear, then demonstrated His authority by calming the sea with a word (Matthew 8:23–27).
Even the demons recognized this truth. They could do nothing without permission. They had to ask Jesus to enter the pigs. He answered them then allowed it—and even then, their power ended in destruction, not life (Matthew 8:28–32).
These moments reveal something vital:
God is the source of all true power, authority, provision, and life.
Everything else is an imitation.
Because of this, Scripture calls us to discernment. We must know God, know His voice, know His Word, and seek Him directly—so we are not deceived by false promises, false wisdom, or spiritual shortcuts. We are warned not to be impressed with our own understanding or drawn toward substitutes that promise control, insight, or power apart from God.
“Do not be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil. Then you will have healing for your body and strength for your bones.” (Proverbs 3:7–8)
What is impossible for us becomes possible when we seek the One who truly is divine. When we ask Him, trust Him, and wait for Him, He answers and He never fails. Only God can do what only God can do—and He delights to do it for those who seek Him. 💎
Action
Today, take 5 minutes to intentionally seek God. Ask Him:
- “Lord, what do You want me to know specifically about this today?”
- Journal what He whispers by His Holy Spirit.
- Then ask Him, “Now, what do You want me to do?”
- Journal what He whispers – then do it!
Let Him be your source in all things today, seeking Him for all your needs and desires.
Prayer
Lord, You alone are divine.
Forgive me for the times I look for answers, solutions, or strength apart from You. Teach me to recognize Your voice and trust Your power. Protect my heart from deception and false substitutes. I choose to fear You, seek You, and wait on You. Do what only You can do in my life, for Your glory and my good. Amen.
