Jesus in Every Page: The Pattern of Salvation in Exodus 5

Today’s One Year Bible Verses: Exodus 5:22-7:25, Matthew 18:21-19:12, Psalm 23:1-6, Proverbs 5:22-23

Hidden In Plain Sight

God loves patterns, and He loves it even more when His children discover them. Throughout Scripture, He has woven His plan of salvation into history long before Jesus ever stepped onto the earth. In Exodus 6:1–8, we see a beautiful picture of the gospel hidden in God’s promise to Israel.

In this passage, God outlines His rescue plan step by step—a plan that points directly to what Jesus would one day accomplish for us:

God’s Promise in Exodus → Our Salvation in Christ

  1. “I am the Lord (Yahweh)” — He reveals Himself as Savior
→ Jesus steps down from heaven to reveal the Father and bring salvation
  2. “I established My covenant”
→ Jesus establishes the New Covenant through His blood
  3. “I have heard their groans”
→ God hears our cries from sin, brokenness, and death
  4. “I will free you from your oppression”
→ Jesus frees us from bondage to sin and makes us clean
  5. “I will redeem you”
→ We are given right standing before the Father through Christ
  6. “I will claim you as My own”
→ We are adopted as God’s children
  7. “I will bring you into the land”
→ We are promised eternal life and heaven with Him
  8. “I will give it to you as your possession”
→ We receive an everlasting inheritance in Christ

This is not coincidence. This is intentional. From the very beginning, God was revealing His rescue mission for humanity. Long before the cross, long before the empty tomb, He was already declaring redemption, restoration, and relationship.

He sees us. He hears us. He saves us. He restores us. He keeps His promises. If we will look, we will find Jesus woven throughout every page of Scripture. And today, He is still calling hearts to Himself. All He asks is that we say yes. 💎

Action (5 Minutes with God)

Take 5 minutes with God today and ask Him:

  • What do You want me to know about this today, Lord?
    • Journal what He whispers by His Holy Spirit.
  • Then ask, “What do You want me to do?
    • Journal what He whispers – then do it!

Allow the Lord to show you something new today. “It is God’s privilege to conceal things and the king’s privilege to discover them.” – Proverbs 25: 2 (NLT)

Prayer

Father God, thank You for loving me enough to plan my salvation from the beginning of time. Thank You for seeing my need, hearing my cries, and sending Jesus to rescue me. Open my eyes to see You in Your Word and in my life. Help me to trust You more deeply and walk in the freedom You have given me. Today, I say yes to You again. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
