The Kingdom Is Here — Will We Walk in It?

Today’s One Year Bible Verses: Leviticus 20:22-22:16, Mark 9:1-29, Psalm 43:1-5, Proverbs 10:18

What Will You Do?

God told Israel:

“You must keep all my decrees and regulations by putting them into practice… Otherwise the land I am giving you will vomit you out.”
— Leviticus 20:22 (NLT)

Then He said:

“You must be holy because I, the LORD, am holy. I have set you apart from all other people to be my very own.”
— Leviticus 20:26 (NLT)

Set apart. His very own.

If we are His, then we must obey and do.

Holiness was never theoretical. It was covenant loyalty in action. It was access to the land only through alignment with the King.

Now, fast forward. At Jesus’ baptism, something monumental happened. The heavens opened. The Spirit descended. The Father declared:

“This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy.” (Matthew 3:17 NLT)

This was not just a tender moment. This was coronation language! The Father publicly affirmed the Son as His rightful heir. Authority was declared. The Spirit descended not as decoration, but as empowerment.

And what were Jesus’ first recorded words after this?

“Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” — Matthew 3:2 (KJV)

Repent = think differently.

Kingdom of heaven = the government of God

What Jesus was telling them is – Think different because the government of God is here!

The Kingdom did not begin at the cross. That is where it was finished. The cross sealed it permanently. The Kingdom arrived when the King was revealed and authorized.

It arrived when the Spirit descended.
It arrived when authority was declared by the Father.
It arrived when Jesus announced it.

The Kingdom was at handwithin reach. It came then and is here now – it has not gone away!

And then, Jesus said,

“I tell you the truth, some standing here right now will not die before they see the Kingdom of God arrive in great power!” (Mark 9:1 NLT)

Six days after that Jesus took Peter, James, and John up the mountain. There He was transformed before their very eyes. Radiant. Glorious. Also, Moses and Elijah appeared — the Law and the Prophets bearing witness. And again, the Father spoke:

“This is my dearly loved Son. Listen to him.” — Mark 9:7 (NLT)

When the cloud lifted, only Jesus remained. Not Moses, Elijah, or anyone else – Jesus. The mount of transfiguration was confirmation.

Confirmation of what had already been declared at the baptism.
Confirmation of who the King is.
Confirmation that the Kingdom had indeed arrived.

Many saw it. But only those willing to see, saw. The Kingdom is already here. The question is not whether it exists. The question is whether we will see it and align with it.

Leviticus warned Israel: put it into practice. Why? Because access without obedience leads to removal.
If you belong there then you are a part of what is happening there. If you don’t then what are you doing?

If you aren’t living and working for the Kingdom then you are living and working for non-Kingdom things. There are only two governments. If we claim Kingdom identity but refuse Kingdom obedience, what are we actually walking in?

Holiness is alignment with the King.

Repentance is thinking differently because His authority is present now and He has offered us citizenship with full access.

Will we see it?
Will we believe it?
Will we take hold of it?

If yes — then we must walk in it. What will you do? 💎

Action (5 Minutes with God)

Take 5 minutes with God today to be with the King. Ask Him:

  • Lord, what do you want me to know about this personally?”
    • Journal what He reveals to you.
  • Then ask, “What do You want me to do?”
    • Journal what He whispers by His Holy Spirit – then do it!

Let today be a day of Acknowledgment and unity with the King of Kings. Let Him show you how to better access Him and His Kingdom.

Prayer

Father, thank You that Your Kingdom is not distant but right here, right now. Open my eyes to see what has already arrived. Teach me to think differently because Your authority is here. Align my heart with you and Your government. Help me live holy — not as ritual, but as loyalty to the King. I only have access through Jesus and I thank You for Him. Help me to better walk in Your ways that I may be more fluent in Kingdom ways. I want alignment with You, Lord. This is humbly pray, in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
