Today’s One Year Bible Verses: Numbers 28:16-29:40, Luke 3:23-38, Psalm 62:1-12, Proverbs 11:18-19
Love Always Wins
This morning, the Lord spoke something very clearly to my heart:
“You must show love to all those around you. Help them, teach them, allow them to grow in Me. This is how souls are won and hearts are changed.”
As I pondered that, I opened today’s reading in Numbers and, at first, I didn’t immediately see how it connected. But as I continued reading, the Lord began to show me something deeper.
Everything God instructed His people to do was rooted in love.
Jesus had not yet come to fully pay for sin on the cross, yet God still made a way for His people to be covered. The offerings, the sacrifices, the appointed feasts—these were not just rules to follow. They were acts of mercy, provision, and care.
Even the feasts were designed with purpose. They brought the people together in joy and unity, creating space for them to uplift one another, to walk together, and to grow in their relationship with God. It was never about control—it was always about connection.
Then we move into Luke, where we read the genealogy of Jesus. At first glance, it may seem like just a list of names, but it reveals something powerful: God knows every single person personally.
He knows names. He knows stories. He knows hearts.
And if He loves each of them so deeply… then we are called to love them too.
As I continued reading, Psalm 62 stood out to me. David describes a moment where he is surrounded by enemies—people who are trying to tear him down, delighting in lies, and working against him.
And I couldn’t help but think…
What if David didn’t know the Lord?
What if the only people around him treated him this way—accusing, tearing down, and working against him?
Would that kind of environment have drawn him closer to God?
Of course not.
And that is exactly what the Lord was showing me.
Without love, we will never succeed in winning souls to Christ or softening hearts.
So often, we think we are helping people by correcting them, pointing things out, or even silently judging them. But if our hearts are not filled with love, people can feel that—even if we smile on the outside.
A heart that is critical, jealous, or prideful cannot produce the kind of fruit that draws people to God.
Instead of pulling people closer, it pushes them away.
But love does the opposite.
Love opens hearts.
Love builds trust.
Love creates space for people to grow.
This is why the Lord calls us not just to speak truth, but to walk in love as we do it.
We are meant to help people, teach them, and walk alongside them as they grow in Him—not force them, not judge them, and not tear them down.
Because it is love that leads people into the presence of God.
And the truth is, we cannot do this in our own strength.
We must go to the Lord and ask Him to fill us with His unfailing love—so that what flows from us is not our own reactions, but His heart.
Because when His love flows through us…
hearts begin to soften,
walls begin to come down,
and souls are drawn to Him. 💎
Action (5 Minutes with God)
Take at least 5 minutes to spend time with the Lord today. Ask Him:
- “Lord, what do You want me to know about this personally?”
- Write down what He reveals.
- Then ask, “What do You want me to do?”
- Write down what He reveals to you by His Holy Spirit – then do it!
Let Him pour His love in to you so you can pour it out on others. 💎
Prayer
Lord,
Thank You for Your unfailing love toward me. Thank You that even when I fall short, You continue to pursue me with mercy and grace. Search my heart and reveal any place where I have not been walking in love toward others. Remove judgment, pride, and jealousy, and replace them with Your compassion. Teach me to help, to guide, and to walk alongside others as they grow in You. Let my life reflect Your love in a way that draws people closer to You. Fill me with Your love so that I may love others the way You do. I thank You and praise You in Jesus’ mighty name, amen.
