You Don’t Need A Map—You Need Him

Today’s One Year Bible Verses: Deuteronomy 2:1-3:29, Luke 6:12-38, Psalm 67:1-7, Proverbs 11:27

He Knows The Way

There is something in us that wants to know what’s coming.

We want clarity about tomorrow, reassurance about the future, and answers about how everything will unfold. Our minds run ahead, trying to prepare, predict, and protect.

But God gently pulls us back and says:

Be with Me today.

The Lord reminded me of this when He whispered to me this morning:

“Future things are for Me to predict. Don’t worry about tomorrow or the things to come. Just be with Me today. That is where peace and clarity comes. I will direct your path.”

So when I read about the Israelites journeying through the wilderness it occurred to me that God didn’t hand them a full map of where they were going. Instead, He gave them direction one step at a time—telling them where to go, where not to go, and when to move forward. They had to trust Him daily, even when they didn’t understand the bigger picture.

And in the same way, Jesus Himself modeled this kind of dependence. Before choosing His disciples and stepping into ministry, He withdrew to pray, spending the night with the Father. Out of that place of being with Him came clarity, direction, and authority.

Peace didn’t come from knowing everything ahead.

It came from staying connected.

We often think that if we could just figure out what’s next, we would finally feel settled. But peace is not found in predicting the future—it is found in walking with the One who already holds it in His hands.

Scripture reminds us that what we seek shapes what we find. If we search for our own answers, control, and certainty about tomorrow, we often find anxiety, struggle and disappointment. But when we seek God—when we choose to be with Him right here, right now—we find something entirely different: favor, peace, and clarity.

God is not asking you to figure everything out, He is asking you to stay close. To sit with Him. To walk with Him. To trust Him in every step.

You don’t need the full picture. You just need the next step—and the One who leads it. 💎

Action (5 Minutes with God)

Take 5 quiet minutes today and intentionally go to the feet of Jesus. Ask Him:

  • Lord, what do You want me to know about this today?
    • Journal what He reveals by His Holy Spirit.
  • Then ask, “What do You want me to do?”
    • Journal what He reveals – then do it!

Release tomorrow to Him and walk in His will today. If your mind starts to race ahead, gently bring it back and say: “Lord, I choose You today and I trust You.”

Prayer

Lord, help me to let go of my need to know what’s ahead and rest in You. Quiet my mind when it tries to run into the future and fill me with Your peace. Teach me to be present with You and to trust that You are already holding tomorrow. Lead me step by step, and give me clarity for what You are asking of me today. I choose to walk with You, knowing that You will direct my path. Thank You, Lord! Amen.
