Today’s One Year Bible Verses: Deuteronomy 11:1-12:32, Luke 8:22-39, Psalm 70:1-5, Proverbs 12:4
Prepared and Anchored in Truth
Today’s Gem of Knowledge was definitely a heart check when the Lord whispered to me,
“I am coming and I want My people prepared. Stop falling for the lies of the enemy and focus on Me. I will be your source of truth in a fallen world. I have overcome the world and you can too if you trust Me and believe.”
There is a clear call in this word: prepare your heart and fix your focus.
In Deuteronomy 11, the Lord doesn’t just suggest devotion—He commands intentional, daily commitment.
He says to store His words in your heart and mind, tie them to your hands, and wear them on your forehead. He tells His people to teach them to their children, talk about them at home and on the road, from morning to night.
This isn’t casual faith.
This is a life fully centered on Him.
Why?
Because what you continually think about…
what you keep before your eyes…
what you speak and teach…
That’s what shapes your focus.
And your focus determines whether you walk in truth—or drift into deception.
And then we see it lived out in Luke 8.
The disciples are in a storm, convinced they are about to die—while Jesus is right there with them.
That’s what deception does.
It makes you feel like you’re sinking… even when the Savior is in the boat.
Jesus stands, speaks to the storm, and everything changes. Then He asks them, “Where is your faith?”
Not—Do you have faith?
But—Where did you put it?
Because faith misplaced will always lead to fear.
Then just a few verses later, Jesus delivers a man tormented by demons—restoring him completely. What no one else could fix, Jesus handled with a word.
That’s your reminder:
There is no storm, no torment, no lie that has authority over the truth of Christ.
Psalm 70 cries out, “O God, come quickly to help me!”—and there’s something so honest about that. Preparation doesn’t mean perfection. It means knowing exactly where to run when things feel shaky.
And Proverbs 12 reminds us that what is rooted in truth brings honor and strength—but what is twisted leads to destruction.
So what is the Lord really saying today?
Stop entertaining voices that are not Mine.
Stop agreeing with thoughts that pull you away from truth.
Stop living distracted in a world that is constantly trying to redefine what is right.
Focus on Me.
Because when your focus is right:
- Fear loses its grip
- Lies are exposed
- Peace becomes your anchor
Jesus already overcame the world.
You’re not trying to win—you’re learning to walk in His victory.
If the Lord came today… would you be ready? 💎
Action (5 Minutes with God)
Take 5 minutes to be with the Lord and ask Him:
- “What lie have I been believing?”
- Write down what He shows you.
- Then ask, “What is the truth You want me to replace it with?”
- Write down what He says then take a moment and declare that truth out loud.
- Finally, ask Him, “Is there anything else You want me to know or do?”
- Be faithful in writing it down. It will be your constant in times of need. If He instructs you to do something – do it!
Don’t wait or hesitate. He is coming and He wants His people prepared. He loves you more than everything, no matter what you have done! He is filled with compassion and mercy for you – He wants to be with you and make all things right in you. 🔥❤️
Prayer
Lord,
Thank You for reminding me that You are my source of truth in a world full of noise and deception. Forgive me for the places where I’ve allowed my focus to drift and where I’ve believed things that are not from You. The enemy is cunning, Lord, so I ask please open my eyes to recognize every lie and give me the strength to reject it. Reveal all truth to me, Lord, and help me walk in it.
Help me fix my eyes fully on You. Strengthen my faith so that I trust You in every storm and every uncertain moment. Thank You that You have already overcome the world, and because I belong to You, I can walk in that victory. Help me to believe it.
Prepare my heart, Lord. Align me with Your truth. Keep me grounded, steady, and focused as I follow You. Thank You for loving me and making a way for us all. Thank you for your unfailing love and mercy.
In Jesus’ mighty name I pray, amen.
