Today’s One Year Bible Verses: Deuteronomy 21:1-22:30, Luke 9:51-10:12, Psalm 74:1-23, Proverbs 12:11
Trust God’s Timing
This morning, the Lord reminded me of something simple—but not always easy:
Timing matters. He said,
“Timing—it’s all in the timing. Trust Me in all things, for I know the best time and place for everything. Sometimes you must wait if it is to be done right. Just trust Me and keep moving forward with Me.”
We want things to happen quickly. Clearly. On our timeline. But God sees what we don’t. He knows the right moment, the right place, and even the things that need to be prepared in us before something can happen through us.
In Luke 9, it says, “As the time drew near for Him to ascend to heaven, Jesus resolutely set out for Jerusalem.” (Luke 9:51 NLT)
That word—time—stands out.
Jesus didn’t move randomly. He didn’t rush ahead or delay unnecessarily. He moved in alignment with the Father’s timing, even when it led Him toward something difficult.
And not everyone understood it.
Some rejected Him. Some didn’t receive Him. But that didn’t change His direction—because His movement wasn’t based on people’s response. It was based on obedience and timing.
We see another side of this in Psalms 74. The psalmist is crying out, wondering why God seems distant, asking how long the waiting will last. It feels delayed. Unanswered.
And yet—even there—God is still working, still sovereign, still in control of the outcome.
Waiting doesn’t mean He’s absent.
It often means He’s aligning something we can’t yet see.
Even in Deuteronomy, we see detailed instructions for justice, relationships, and daily living. Nothing is rushed. Nothing is careless. God is intentional in everything He does—and He calls us to walk with that same trust, even when we don’t fully understand the process.
And then Proverbs reminds us, “A hard worker has plenty of food, but a person who chases fantasies has no sense.” (Proverbs 12:11 NLT)
There’s a balance here.
We’re called to keep moving, keep trusting, and keep walking with Him—but not ahead of Him.
At the heart of this, trusting God’s timing means not forcing what He hasn’t released, not quitting when things feel slow, and not comparing your timeline to someone else’s. It means staying close enough to Him that you’re moving with Him, not trying to run ahead and figure it out on your own.
Trust Him.💎
Action (5 Minutes with God)
Take a 5 quiet minutes today and come back to Him. Ask Him,
- “Lord, what do You want to tell me about this?”
- Journal what He reveals.
- Then ask, “What do You want me to do?”
- Journal what He reveals – then do it!
Let today be a day of listening and aligning with God’s timing. Keep trusting, believing, declaring, and doing then watch what He will do!
Prayer
Father,
Thank You that You see what I cannot see. Thank You that Your timing is perfect, even when I don’t understand it. Forgive me for the times I’ve tried to rush ahead, force things, or become impatient in the waiting. Help me to trust You—not just in words, but in how I move, how I wait, and how I respond. Teach me to walk with You, not ahead of You. Give me peace in the waiting and clarity in the moving. I trust that You know the right time and place for everything in my life. Help me stay close to You and keep moving forward—step by step—with You. In Jesus’ mighty name I pray. Amen.
