Today’s One Year Bible Verses: Deuteronomy 33:1-29, Luke 13:1-21, Psalm 78:65-72, Proverbs 12:25
A Spirit-Led Life
Have you ever thought about what it would be like to be an angel of God?
The Gem of Knowledge the Lord whispered to me today was unexpected… and honestly, really profound. He said,
“Celestial beings are far more superior to most humans only because they walk in the spirit. But you can too. If you would learn to walk in the spirit with me, nothing would be above you, and no powers could overcome you. You would become unstoppable with me.”
After all, Hebrews 2:6–8 reminds us that we were created just a little lower than the angels… yet crowned with glory and given authority—though we don’t always walk in it:
“But there is a place where someone has testified: ‘What is mankind that you are mindful of them, a son of man that you care for him? You made them a little lower than the angels; you crowned them with glory and honor and put everything under their feet.’ In putting everything under them, God left nothing that is not subject to them.” (NLT)
This Gem is not about being “greater”… it’s about knowing who we really are and knowing how to live the way God intended.
Celestial beings—angels—operate fully in the spirit. They are aligned with God, they respond to Him immediately, and they carry out His will without hesitation.
And the Lord is showing us…
we were never meant to live disconnected from that.
We are spirit as much as we are flesh. We just need to realize it then learn how to walk in the spirit with God instead of letting our flesh determine everything.
When I read Deuteronomy 33, Moses is blessing the tribes, and what stands out is how everything flows from God’s presence. He is their refuge, their strength, the One who goes before them and fights for them.
They weren’t powerful on their own.
They were powerful because God was with them.
Then in Luke 13, Jesus shows us what it actually looks like to walk in the Spirit.
He heals a woman who had been bound for eighteen years. The religious leaders were focused on rules and timing—but Jesus was operating from the Spirit of God. He saw her, He knew her condition, and He responded with authority and compassion.
That’s the difference.
Walking in the flesh is reactive, limited, and often bound by fear, rules, or pressure.
Walking in the Spirit is aware, discerning, and led by God.
Psalm 78 shows the opposite. The people were led, provided for, and protected by God… and still turned away. They chose to live disconnected from Him, and because of that, they lost strength and direction.
It’s not that God withholds power…
it’s that we don’t always walk with Him, so we don’t know it or believe it.
When I sit with this Gem, I don’t hear God saying, “Become powerful on your own.”
I hear Him saying,
“Walk with Me.”
Because when we walk in the Spirit:
- we are no longer led by fear
- we are no longer overcome by circumstances
- we are no longer reacting to everything around us
We are led.
We are grounded.
We are aligned with Him.
And we begin to understand the power He really offers us through His Holy Spirit. 💎
Action (5 Minutes with God)
Take time to be with the Lord today in the spirit. Ask Him:
- “What do You want me know about this personally?”
- Write down what He reveals to you.
- Then ask, “What do You want me to do?”
- Write down what He reveals – then do it!
Sit quietly and listen. Let Him show you how to walk in the spirit with Him.
Prayer
Lord, thank You that You have not called me to live this life on my own. Teach me how to walk in the Spirit with You. Show me where I’ve been relying on my own strength, my own understanding, and my own reactions. Help me to slow down and follow Your lead. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and guide my thoughts, my words, and my actions. Let me walk in alignment with You today. In Jesus’ mighty name I pray, amen.
