Today’s One Year Bible Verses: Joshua 5:1-7:15, Luke 15:1-32, Psalm 81:1-16, Proverbs 13:1
Let Him Fill Your Cup
There are times in our walk with God when we begin to feel empty, even when nothing around us has dramatically changed. It can come quietly—through weariness, discouragement, or a subtle sense that we are giving more than we are receiving. In those moments, we may not say it out loud, but something in our heart begins to question whether God is still near or whether His love is still as present as it once felt.
The Lord knows these times will come upon us, so He is reminding us of something precious in today’s Gem of Knowledge:
“Don’t question My love for you or doubt. If you ever do, just come back to Me again for more. I will fill your cup to overflowing and you will be able to pour out continually without ever running dry or burning out. Let Me fill your loving cup today and every day.”
The Lord meets us in that place with such kindness and simplicity. He doesn’t correct us harshly or tell us to try harder. Instead, He invites us to return. If doubt begins to rise or if we feel depleted, His answer is not striving—it is coming back to Him again.
In today’s reading, Luke 15:11–32 is one of my favorite stories of love, acceptance, and renewal. The prodigal son did not find restoration by fixing his situation or proving himself worthy—in fact, he did the opposite. His turning point came when he realized he couldn’t do it on his own, so he chose to go back to his father.
He hoped for very little, just enough to survive. But what he found was not hesitation, rejection, or withholding, but a father who was “filled with love and compassion,” who ran to meet him, embraced him, and restored him fully.
This is the same heart God has toward us!
When we feel empty or begin to question His love, we are not meant to stay there or try to refill ourselves. We are meant to return to Him again and again. He is filled with love and compassion for you!
There is no barrier on His side, no reluctance, and no limit to what He is willing to pour out.
Psalm 81 expresses this beautifully when God says, “Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it with good things” (Psalm 81:10, NLT). His desire is not just to sustain us, but to satisfy us. He fills us in a way that restores, strengthens, and renews what has been worn down and made weary.
As we spend time with Him and allow Him to fill us, we are no longer trying to give from a place of lack. Instead, we begin to pour out from what He has already poured into us.
This is how we continue without burning out—because the source is no longer ourselves, but Him.
What the Lord is showing us is both simple and freeing. We do not have to question His love or remain in a place of emptiness. When we feel that way, He invites us to come back and receive again.
And He is faithful to meet us there every time.💎
Action (5 Minutes with God)
Take just 5 simple minutes to come before the Lord today. Ask Him:
- “Lord, what do You want me to know about this today?”
- Journal what He whispers by His Holy Spirit.
- Then ask, “Lord, what do You want me to do?”
- Journal what He whispers – then do it!
Let Him remind you of His love. Let Him refresh your heart and fill it to overflowing.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for loving me with a love that never runs out. Forgive me for the times I have questioned Your love or tried to fill myself instead of coming to You. Today, I come back. I bring my emptiness, my weariness, and my doubts, and I lay them before You. Fill my cup again. Let Your love overflow in me so that I can pour out from abundance, not exhaustion. Teach me to return to You daily, to receive from You freely, and to trust that You are always ready to meet me. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
