Today’s One Year Bible Verses: Joshua 7:16-9:2, Luke 16:1-18, Psalm 82:1-8, Proverbs 13:2-3
God Will Fill Your Cup
There are moments in our walk with God when doubt doesn’t come in loud or obvious ways, but quietly, through weariness, hurt, or disappointment. We may still be showing up, still doing what we know to do, but something within us begins to feel drained. In those moments, it can be easy to question whether God is truly near or whether His love is as present as we once believed.
Today He reminded me with this Gem given by His sweet Holy Spirit how close He really is. He whispered,
“Don’t question My love for you or doubt. If you ever do, just come back to Me again for more. I will fill your cup to overflowing and you will be able to pour out continuously without ever running dry or burning out. Let Me fill your loving cup today and every day.”
The Lord speaks gently into that place of hurt, sadness, or strain and reminds us that we do not need to stay there. If doubt begins to rise, the answer is not to push through it on our own, but to come back to Him and receive again and again.
In today’s reading, we see a contrast between what happens when people move forward without seeking God and what happens when they walk closely with Him. In Joshua 7–9, Israel experiences the consequences of hidden sin and later makes decisions without asking the Lord for guidance. There is a pattern here that is easy to miss—we can continue moving forward externally while becoming disconnected internally. Going through the motions with our flesh but forgetting to go to Him in the spirit. When that happens, confusion, weakness, and missteps follow.
Jesus addresses something similar in Luke 16, where He speaks about faithfulness and the condition of the heart. What we do outwardly matters, but what is happening within us matters even more. God is always after the heart, because the heart determines the flow of everything else.
Psalm 82 reminds us that God is just and sees clearly. He is not distant or unaware. He is present, attentive, and righteous in all His ways. This means that when we come to Him, we are not coming to someone who is uncertain or withholding—we are coming to a Father who sees, understands, and responds.
What the Lord is showing us in this Gem is simple but deeply important. When we begin to feel empty or question His love, it is not a sign that He has moved away from us. It is an invitation to return to Him and be filled again.
He does not fill us halfway or reluctantly. He fills us to overflowing. As we receive from Him, we are no longer trying to give out of our own strength. Instead, what flows from us comes from what He has already poured into us.
This is how we continue without burning out. This is how we love, serve, and walk with endurance. We return, we receive, and we allow Him to fill what has been emptied.
Let Him fill your loving cup today. 💎
Action (5 Minutes with God)
Take5 minutes and come before the Lord today. Ask Him,
- “Lord, what do You want me to know about this today?”
- Write down what He whispers by His Holy Spirit.
- Then ask, “What do You want me to do?”
- Write it down so you never forget – then do it!
He will fill you and comfort you. He will bring you love, joy and peace.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for Your constant love and for the invitation to come back to You again and again. Forgive me for the times I have questioned Your love or tried to continue on my own when I was running empty. Today, I come back to You. I bring everything that feels drained or weary, and I ask You to fill me again. Restore my heart, renew my strength, and remind me of Your love. Help me to live from what You pour into me, not from my own effort. Teach me to return to You daily and to trust that You will always meet me there. In Jesus’ mighty name I pray, amen.
