Your Faith Has Saved You; Go In Peace.

Today’s One Year Bible Verses: Deuteronomy 7:1-8:20, Luke 7:36-8:3, Psalm 69.1-18, Proverbs 12:1

What Comes First?

God is so faithful! Every day He whispers beautiful Gems of Knowledge to us if we will listen.

Today He said to me through His Holy Spirit:

“You must make time in My Word and time in My presence your #1 priority, above all else. Let nothing come before this or take away from it. All blessings and knowledge are hinged on this. There is nothing more important.”

I can’t begin to tell you how amazing it is to be intimate with the Lord. The first thing that crosses my mind when I wake up is Him. I look forward to my time of worship and prayer—when I get to kneel at His feet.

And today, in Luke 7:36–50, I saw another who knew this same feeling.

A woman came into the room where Jesus was, and while others judged her, she didn’t care. She went straight to Him—fell at His feet, wept, worshiped, and poured everything out.

She wasn’t worried about appearances.
She wasn’t distracted by people.
She wasn’t holding anything back.

She just wanted to be near Him.

And Jesus honored her.

That’s what it looks like to make Him your priority.

Not perfectly. Not religiously. But wholeheartedly.

Because when you truly experience His presence…
nothing else compares.

In Deuteronomy 8, God warns His people not to forget Him—especially when life becomes full and comfortable. Because the drift doesn’t usually happen in crisis… it happens in distraction.

Psalm 69 shows us a different posture. In the middle of overwhelm, David runs to God, not away from Him. “But I keep praying to you, Lord…” (Psalm 69:13 NLT)

And Proverbs 12:1 reminds us that loving God means loving His Word—even when it stretches us, corrects us, and calls us higher.

Here’s the truth:

You don’t accidentally stay close to God.

You choose Him.
You make time for Him.
You give Him first place.

Because everything flows from that place:

  • clarity
  • strength
  • wisdom
  • peace
  • direction

When He is first, everything else finds its place…and it is well. 💎

Action (5 Minutes with God)

Take 5 intentional minutes today—no distractions. Come before the Lord honestly and ask:

  • Lord, what do You want me to know about this today?
    • Write down what He reveals – always! This is your tablet of remembrance.
  • Then ask Him, “What do You want me to do?”
    • Write it down – then do it!

Make Him your #1 priority today and watch His blessings flow.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for Your faithfulness and for speaking so clearly. Thank You for inviting me into deeper intimacy with You. Forgive me for the times I’ve allowed other things to come before You—whether it was busyness, distraction, or even things that seemed important. Teach me to prioritize You above all else. Give me a hunger for Your Word and a desire to be with You daily. Help me to slow down, to listen, and to value time with You as the most important part of my day. I don’t want to just know about You—I want to be close to You. Draw me nearer, Lord, I pray. Amen.
