Today’s One Year Bible Verses: Deuteronomy 16:1-17:20, Luke 9:7-27, Psalm 72:1-20, Proverbs 12:8-9
Be A Peacemaker
There’s something so simple about today’s Gem… yet it reaches into everything:
“Today is a day of peace and making peace. Make peace with Me and make peace with others. This will bring you peace today and everlasting. Amen.”
Make peace with God ➕ Make peace with others 🟰 Peace for you!
In Deuteronomy 16–17, God is establishing order, justice, and right living among His people. He’s not just giving rules—He’s creating a way for them to live in harmony with Him and with each other.
Because when we walk outside of His ways, things begin to fracture— in our hearts, in our choices, and in our relationships.
Then in Luke 9 Jesus asks, “Who do you say I am?” And then He says:
“If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me.”
That’s where peace begins…surrender.
Yes, circumstances can bring us unrest. Life is hard. People hurt us. And Jesus Himself said there would be trouble in this world. But peace is found in how we respond to God within those circumstances.
When we stop resisting Him and say, “Yes, Lord,” that’s where peace begins.
Psalm 72 paints a picture of a righteous King whose reign brings justice, compassion, and peace that flows like a river. It shows us what life looks like when everything is rightly aligned under God.
And Proverbs 12 reminds us that wisdom and humility lead to honor—but striving, pride, and self-exaltation only bring unrest.
Will we surrender to God and make peace with Him in our hearts?
Will we set aside our stubbornness and striving and let Him lead instead?
Will we stop resisting the peace He is offering?
Peace isn’t something you chase… it’s something that flows from alignment.
When we are aligned with God, our hearts and minds begin to change—and so do our relationships.
When you make peace with God, you begin to carry that peace into every other place. 💎
Action (5 Minutes with God)
Take 5 intentional minutes to be with God today. Ask Him:
- “What do You want me to know about this personally, Lord?”
- Journal what He whispers by His Holy Spirit
- Then ask Him, “What do You want me to do?”
- Journal what He whispers – then do it!
Let today be a day of peace and making peace with God and others.
Prayer
Lord, Thank You for being the source of true peace. You see every circumstance, every hurt, and every place of unrest in my heart. Today, I choose to make peace with You. I surrender what I’ve been holding onto and trust You in the middle of it. Teach me to say, “Yes, Lord,” even when it’s hard. Show me where I need to make peace with others, and give me the humility and courage to do it. Let Your peace fill me and flow through me. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
