Today’s One Year Bible Verses:
Covered by the Blood
Today is Passover—a time that reminds us of God’s deliverance, His covering, and the power of the blood that saves.
And this morning, the Lord gave a message that feels both weighty and full of hope:
“Tell the world I’m coming soon—and all who are covered by My blood will be saved.”
He is coming. Not someday in a vague, distant way—but soon. And not to create fear, but to call people back to what matters most.
In Deuteronomy 18, God tells His people that He will raise up a Prophet and that they must listen to Him. That wasn’t just for them—it was pointing forward to Jesus. The instruction is simple, but it’s everything:
Listen to Him.
Then in Luke 9, we see that moment on the mountain when Jesus is transfigured. God speaks again, saying, “This is my Son, my Chosen One. Listen to him.” It’s the same message, confirmed.
Listen to Him.
But if we’re honest, that’s where many of us struggle. Not because we don’t believe in Him—but because life gets loud. Distractions creep in. Other things take priority. And without realizing it, we can begin to drift from the very One we’re meant to follow.
We see it happen in Psalm 73 today. The psalmist looks around and sees people living without God, seemingly doing just fine, and it shakes him—until he comes back into God’s presence. Then everything becomes clear. He sees the bigger picture, the final outcome, and he says, “But as for me, how good it is to be near God!” (Psalm 73:28 NLT).
That’s really the dividing line.
Not perfection.
Not performance.
But proximity.
Those who stay near to Him—who listen, who respond, who remain—are secure. Not because of anything they’ve done on their own, but because they are covered by what He has done.
And today, on Passover, that truth carries even more weight.
The blood that once marked the doorposts for protection now points us to Jesus—the Lamb—whose blood covers us completely.
That’s the hope in this message!
Yes, He is coming.
But He’s also calling.
Calling people to come near.
To listen again.
To return if they’ve drifted.
Because those who are His—those covered by His blood—will be saved. 💎
Action (5 Minutes with God)
Take a 5 quiet minutes today and come back to Him. Ask Him,
- “Lord, what do You want to tell me about this?”
- Journal what He reveals.
- Then ask, “What do You want me to do?”
- Journal what He reveals – then do it!
Let today be a reset—choosing to stay close, to listen, and to remain in Him, covered by His saving blood.
Prayer
Father,
Thank You for Your faithfulness and for the covering of Your Son. Thank You that you loved me enough to send Him. Thank You that through His blood, I am saved, protected, and brought near to You. Help me to truly listen—not just hear, but respond. Show me where I’ve become distracted or drifted, and gently draw me back to You. I don’t want to live at a distance—I want to stay close to You. I want to recognize Your voice and follow where You lead. Thank You for the hope and promise that You are coming again. Help me live ready, grounded in You, and anchored in truth. In Jesus’ mighty name I pray, amen.
