Today’s One Year Bible Verses: Judges 1:1-2:9Luke 21:29-22:13, Psalm 90:1-91:16, Proverbs 13:24-25
Finding Stability In Truth
We are living in a time where truth feels unstable. Opinions shift, voices compete, and it doesn’t take much to feel unsettled or unsure of what to trust. But in the middle of all of it, God offers something unchanging—His Word. He reminded me this morning in this Gem of Knowledge,
“Believe the word of the Lord. It’s the one thing you can rely on in a world of lies and confusion. It will be your anchor to me and your portion to sustain you.”
In Luke 21, after describing the signs of the times, Jesus gives a simple illustration: when you see the fig tree begin to bud, you know summer is near. In the same way, He tells us to pay attention and recognize what is unfolding—but then He anchors it with this truth: “Heaven and earth will disappear, but my words will never disappear.” (Luke 21:33, NLT)
Everything else may shift, but His Word does not.
We see the importance of this in Judges as well. After Joshua and that generation passed away, the people began to drift. They had seen God move, they had heard His promises, but without holding firmly to His Word, confusion began to take root. What had once been clear became compromised.
That pattern hasn’t changed. When we loosen our grip on His Word, we don’t become more free—we become more vulnerable to confusion.
Psalm 90 reminds us of the bigger picture: “Lord, through all the generations you have been our home!” (Psalm 90:1, NLT)
And Psalm 91 continues with the promise that those who dwell in Him will find refuge, protection, and rest. His Word is not just instruction—it is a place of dwelling. It anchors us to Him when everything else feels uncertain.
Proverbs 13 brings it into daily life, showing the difference between what sustains and what leaves us empty: “The godly eat to their hearts’ content, but the belly of the wicked goes hungry.” (Proverbs 13:25, NLT)
There is a kind of nourishment that only comes from truth. The world offers many things that promise satisfaction, but only God’s Word truly satisfies and sustains.
When you believe the Word of the Lord, you are not just agreeing with information—you are choosing your anchor. You are deciding what will hold you steady when everything else tries to pull you in different directions.
His Word keeps you grounded.
It keeps you connected.
And it becomes your portion—the very thing that feeds and sustains your soul. 💎
Action (5 Minutes with God)
Take 5 minutes today to be with the Lord. Ask Him:
- “Lord, what do You want me to know about this?”
- Journal what He whispers to you by His Holy Spirit
- Then ask, “What do You want me to do?”
- Journal what He whispers – then do it!
Believe Him today and return to His Word over and over again. Even one verse, held onto and believed, can anchor your heart in ways nothing else can.
Prayer
Father,
In a world filled with noise, confusion, and shifting truth, I choose to believe Your Word. Help me to hold onto what You have spoken, even when everything around me feels uncertain. Anchor my heart in You, and let Your truth sustain me in every season. Teach me to rely on You fully, trusting that Your Word will never fail. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
