Today’s One Year Bible Verses: Jeremiah 14:11-16:15, 1 Thessalonians 2:9-3:13, Psalm 80:1-19, Proverbs 25:1-5
The King’s Privilege
“It is God’s privilege to conceal things and the king’s privilege to discover them. No one can comprehend the height of heaven, the depth of the earth, or all that goes on in the king’s mind! Remove the impurities from silver, and the sterling will be ready for the silversmith. Remove the wicked from the king’s court, and his reign will be made secure by justice.” Proverbs 25:2-5
The wisdom of God is described like hidden treasure—precious silver, concealed gems waiting to be discovered. Proverbs reminds us that there are things God conceals, not to keep us away from Him, but to draw us closer. His mysteries are not locked away from us; they are invitations to seek Him and His ways. Just as kings search out matters of state, we are called to search out the matters of God, digging into His Word, His presence, and His wisdom as if searching for rare jewels.
How glorious is our God that we cannot comprehend all He is and does! If we could contain Him in our understanding, He would not be God. Instead, He invites us to humble ourselves, to lay aside pride, and to allow Him to refine us like silver—removing impurities and revealing His brilliance in us. Each step of refinement makes room for Him to reveal more of His hidden treasures.
These gems of knowledge are not gathered through pride or self-reliance but through reverence, humility, and a hunger to know Him more. As we seek, He delights to uncover the precious truths of His Word, His Spirit, and His ways. Every discovery is a glimpse of His majesty, every hidden truth revealed is another jewel in the crown of wisdom He is shaping in us. 💎
Action (5 Minutes with God)
Spend five minutes today with God in prayer. Picture yourself with the Lord and He wants to take you on a treasure hunt – digging not for earthly wealth but for God’s hidden gems of wisdom. Ask Him: “Lord, what concealed truth do you want me to discover today?” Write down what He shows you, let it sink in to your heart and mind then thank Him for this glorious experience with Him.
Prayer
Lord, You are glorious beyond my comprehension. Thank You for hiding gems of knowledge in Your Word and in Your Spirit’s whispers, so I may seek You more deeply. Refine me like silver, remove pride and impurity, and shape me into a vessel that reflects Your brilliance. Let me never think I know it all, but remain humble and hungry for Your wisdom. Reveal to me Your hidden treasures so that I may walk in Your fear and grow in the knowledge of You. Amen.
