Walking on Water with Jesus
Revelation 4:6 (NLT)
“In front of the throne was a shiny sea of glass, sparkling like crystal.”
Scripture gives us glimpses of heaven that are both beautiful and sobering. One of those is the sea of glass before the throne of God—vast, brilliant, and uncrossable by human strength. It is holy ground, separating what is earthly from what is eternal.
The Lord once gave me a vision that helped me understand this more clearly.
In the vision, I was searching for Him—lost, afraid, and moving through darkness. I was peeking around corners, searching frantically, unsure where to go. Then I came upon an opening: a garden at the center of a labyrinth. There He was, sitting quietly and calmly. When I saw Him, I ran to His feet, worshipped, surrendered, and loved Him.
Then He stood, took me by the hand, and led me back into the labyrinth—but this time, He was with me. He knew every hidden trap, every danger, every turn. Calmly and lovingly, He guided me through until we reached the outer edge.
That’s when I saw it—the sea of glass surrounding everything.
“How will we cross?” I wondered.
He simply smiled… and stepped out with me.
We walked on top of the water together, and I understood instantly: no one crosses this without Him. Alone, we would drown. With Him, we walk where no human can walk.
As we crossed, I saw clouds forming in the distance and steps rising up to His throne. And then the vision shifted—I was seated beside Him, on a throne. He was still holding my hand. He never let go. Not in the labyrinth. Not on the water. Not even in glory.
When I looked back, the labyrinth of life looked small and distant.
He was my only way out.
He was my only way across.
He was my only hope.
This vision echoes the words of Jesus:
Revelation 3:21–22 (NLT)
“Those who are victorious will sit with me on my throne… Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what He is saying to the churches.”
Life truly is a labyrinth. Eternity holds a great divide no one can cross alone. Jesus is not just the destination—He is the way through and the way across. If we seek Him, choose Him, and follow Him, He will guide us through this life and carry us safely into the next.
And He will never let go. 💎
