Covered and Kept By Him
There are times in life when it can feel like things are coming against us from every direction, battles at every turn. Not always in obvious ways, but through pressure, discouragement, or opposition that seems persistent. In those moments, it is easy to focus on what is happening around us instead of remembering who we are in Christ.
The Lord brings us back to truth with this reminder in today’s Gem of Knowledge whispered to me by His Holy Spirit. He said,
“No weapon formed against you will prosper when you are with Me in My kingdom. I protect My people and will clothe you in My righteousness and power. Amen.”
This is one of my most treasured and often used promises in His Word – that no weapon formed against me will prosper. It is so powerful!
Protection is not found in our ability to defend ourselves, but in our position with Him – under His wing.
In today’s reading, we see God’s power on display as He gives victory to His people over and over again in Joshua 11–12. These were not small battles, and they were definitly not won by human strength alone. The outcome was determined by God’s presence with them. As long as they remained aligned with Him, what stood against them could not prevail.
As they faced vast hoards of armies with horses and chariots, He went before them. And not only did He fight their battles, He continuously reassured and comforted them along the way:
“Then the Lord said to Joshua, ‘Do not be afraid of them. By this time tomorrow I will hand all of them over to Israel as dead men.’” – Joshua 11:6 NLT
This was an insurmountable task for man, but for God it was easy. This is what He wants us to know and remember – that for us “it is impossible, but with God all things are possible!” (Matthew 19:26)
Jesus then teaches us in Luke 17 about the Kingdom of God not being something outward and observable, but something that is within and among His people. The Kingdom of God is not physical, but spiritual. When we have faith and believe in Him then He becomes our power and protection.
Psalm 84 gives us a glimpse of what it means to dwell with Him. It speaks of longing for His presence, of finding strength in Him, and of walking from strength to strength as we remain connected to Him. This is not a temporary covering—it is a continual place of refuge and renewal.
“For the Lord God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The Lord will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right. O Lord of Heavens Armies, what joy for those who trust in You.” – Psalm 84: 11-12 NLT
And Proverbs reminds us that righteousness guards and protects. This connects directly to what the Lord is saying in this Gem. When He clothes us in His righteousness, we are not standing exposed or vulnerable. We are covered by what He has provided.
Weapons may form against us, but they will never win if we are covered by the Lord. When we are walking with Him, under His covering, and aligned with His truth, we are protected in ways that go beyond what we can see or ever even imagine. 💎

Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You that my protection is found in You. Thank You that no weapon formed against me will prosper when I am walking with You and positioned in Your Kingdom. Help me to shift my focus from what I see around me to the truth of where I stand in You. Clothe me in Your righteousness and power, and remind me that I am covered by what You have already provided. Strengthen my faith and help me to walk with confidence, knowing that You are with me and that You are my protector. In Your mighty name I pray, amen.
