Today’s One Year Bible Verses: 1 Samuel 14:1–52, John 7:31–53, Psalm 109:1–31, Proverbs 15:5–7
Jesus Is The Way
It’s easy to become distracted by the weight of this world. Responsibilities, disappointments, uncertainty, fear—sometimes they become so overwhelming that we lose sight of where we are ultimately headed.
But the Lord lovingly reminds us in today’s Gem of Knowledge:
“Heaven awaits you, My beloved. Don’t doubt, but seek Me to find your way. Amen.”
What a comforting reminder that this world is not the end of the story.
There is a destination beyond the confusion, beyond the struggle, beyond the temporary things we wrestle with here. But Jesus doesn’t simply tell us to “try harder” to find our way there—He tells us to seek Him. Because He is the way.
In John 7, people were divided over who Jesus truly was. Some believed. Some doubted. Some questioned whether He could really be the One sent by God. Yet even in the middle of all the confusion, many recognized Him because they witnessed His powerful works: “When the Messiah comes, he can’t do more miraculous signs than this man does, can he?” (John 7:31, NLT).
The same choice still exists today. Will we doubt and drift, or will we seek Him?
Seeking God is not just about gaining information—it’s about drawing near to the One who leads us home. The more closely we walk with Him, the more we get to know Him and the clearer the path becomes.
We see this kind of faith in Jonathan in 1 Samuel 14. Surrounded by uncertainty and impossible odds, he still moved forward trusting God. Jonathan said, “Perhaps the Lord will help us, for nothing can hinder the Lord. He can win a battle whether he has many warriors or only a few!” (1 Samuel 14:6, NLT). He didn’t have full clarity about the outcome, but he trusted the character and power of God enough to keep moving forward.
Sometimes we want every detail before we take the next step, but God often asks us to seek Him first and trust Him along the way.
Psalm 109 reminds us that even in hardship, God remains our defender and refuge. David cries out honestly to the Lord, yet still anchors himself in God’s faithfulness. And Proverbs 15:5–7 contrasts wisdom and foolishness, reminding us that wise hearts seek truth while foolishness rejects instruction.
The path to life is not found by wandering aimlessly or relying only on ourselves. It is found by continually seeking Him.
And the beautiful promise is this: heaven awaits those who belong to Him.
So don’t let doubt pull you away from the One who is trying to lead you home. Seek Him daily. Trust Him step by step. Keep your eyes fixed beyond this temporary world and onto the eternal hope waiting for you.
Heaven awaits, beloved. 💎
Action (5 Minutes with God)
Spend intentional time with God today without rushing, even if it’s just 5 minutes. Put away distractions for a few moments and simply seek Him through prayer, worship, or reading His Word. Ask Him:
- “Lord, what do You want me to know about this today?”
- Write down what He reveals to you by His Holy Spirit
- Then ask, “What do You want me to do?”
- Write down what He reveals – then do it!
Allow Him to guide your steps and help you keep your eyes focused on eternity instead of temporary fears or distractions.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for reminding me that this world is not my final home. When doubt, fear, and distraction try to pull my focus away from You, help me to seek You more deeply instead of drifting away. Guide my steps and lead me on the path that brings me closer to You. Strengthen my faith to trust You even when I cannot see the full picture ahead. Thank You for preparing eternity with You for those who love You. Keep my heart anchored in that hope every day. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen
