Jesus Is More Then Enough

I was amazed by what the Lord whispered to me this morning as I was spending time with Him.

He asked me a simple question:

“If you were stranded on a deserted island and could bring only one thing with you, what would it be?”

Immediately, my mind began thinking of practical things—food, water, shelter, tools, or some way to call for rescue. But before I could settle on an answer, I felt Him gently respond:

“The Producer of miracles… or anything else?”

That question stopped me in my tracks. I quickly realized we automatically go to things of this world and overlook Him as a valuable possession. Then He spoke this Gem of Knowledge to me through His Holy Spirit:

“Nothing can give and produce like Me. You are essentially on a desert island in this life. Make sure you have Me with you because I am the only one who can sustain, produce miracles, and ultimately save you. Amen.”

I then thought, “Yes! You, of course! What better thing then You! After all, You can do anything.”

Why would I choose provision if I could choose the Provider?
Why would I choose food when I could choose the One who fed thousands with a few loaves and fish?
Why would I choose water when I could choose the One who brought water from a rock?
Why would I choose rescue when I could choose the Savior?

In 2 Kings 3, three kings found themselves trapped in the wilderness without water. Their situation was desperate. Their armies and animals were facing certain death if God did not intervene. Yet God did what only He could do. Without rain and without natural explanation, He filled the dry valley with water and delivered His people.

The provision was miraculous because it came from the Provider. Hallelujah!

Then, in 2 Kings 4, we encounter a widow whose circumstances also appeared hopeless. She was burdened by debt and facing the loss of her sons. Yet God multiplied a small jar of oil into enough provision to meet every need. Shortly afterward, He also blessed the Shunammite woman with the child she had long desired.

Again and again, God demonstrated that He was not limited by human resources.

He was the source of them.

The Gem said, “You are essentially on a desert island in this life.”

Everything in this world is temporary. Possessions can be lost. Health can fail. Careers can change. People come and go. Even the strongest earthly foundations eventually pass away.

Only God remains through it all.

When we have Him, we possess the One who can provide whatever we need when we need it.

The greatest mistake we can make is becoming so focused on the gifts that we lose sight of the Giver.

Because at the end of the day, if I had to choose between all the provision in the world and the Provider Himself, I would choose the Provider every single time. 💎🙌

Action (5 Minutes with God)

Take at least 5 minutes to be with the Provider today, Jesus. Ask Him:

• “Lord, what do You want me to know about this personally?”
  • Journal what He gives you through His Holy Spirit.
• Then ask, “What do You want me to do?”
  • Journal what He reveals – then do it!

Thank Him for His blessings and make a conscious decision to place your trust in the One who gives them.

Prayer

Father, thank You for being my Provider, Sustainer, Miracle Worker, and Savior. Forgive me for the times I have trusted more in Your gifts than in You. Help me keep my eyes fixed on the Giver rather than the gifts. Teach me to rely on Your wisdom, Your strength, and Your provision in every season of life. Thank You that You are more than enough for every need I will ever face. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
