The Truth About Salvation | An Easter Devotional

Today’s One Year Bible Verses: Deuteronomy 28:1-68, Luke 11:14-36, Psalm 77:1-20, Proverbs 12:18

Jesus Is The Way

Today, we celebrate Easter.

The cross, the sacrifice, the empty tomb.

He is Risen!

Jesus didn’t just die—He rose again. And in doing so, He made a way for salvation that had never existed before.

As I woke this morning, before I could even open my eyes the Holy Spirit began speaking this Gem of Knowledge to me:

“Stop thinking your church will save you. Only I can save you. I died on the cross and rose again for you. No one else. Not your church, or man, or doctrines. Me. Believe in Me and be saved. Anything more than that is false doctrine and a lie. Amen.”

I could feel His heartbreak—but also a little anger—because somewhere along the way, we’ve added things to that simple truth.

We’ve made it about:
church attendance,
religious routines,
doctrine,
requirements,
people,
systems.

And without even realizing it, we’ve shifted our trust. We speak Jesus, but trust the systems of man.

But Jesus brings it back—clear and direct:

“Only I can save you.”

In Deuteronomy 28 today, we see blessings for obedience and consequences for turning away. It’s a powerful reminder that alignment with God matters—but even then, the law itself was never the Savior.

It pointed to the need for one.

And that One is Jesus.

In Luke 11:23, Jesus says:

“Anyone who isn’t with Me opposes Me…”

There is no middle ground.

Not “with church.”
Not “with religion.”
Not “with good intentions.”

👉 With Him.

Even in Psalm 77, the psalmist cries out in distress—not to a system, not to people—but directly to God. And then he remembers:

“I recall all You have done, O Lord…” (Psalm 77:11, NLT)

👉 Salvation has always been personal.

And Proverbs reminds us:

“Some people make cutting remarks, but the words of the wise bring healing.” (Proverbs 12:18, NLT)

Truth may feel sharp—but it leads to life.

So, here is the truth we can’t afford to miss on Easter:

Jesus didn’t die so we could follow a system.
He didn’t rise so we could rely on a building.
He didn’t conquer death so we could trust in man.

He did it so we could be saved—
by Him, through Him, and in Him alone.

There is nothing you can add to what He already finished.

No extra requirement.
No human substitute.
No religious upgrade.

And if you do…”it is false doctrine and a lie.”

It is just Him, simply and beautifully. Jesus.

Crucified.
Risen.
Savior.

This doesn’t diminish the church—it puts it in its proper place.

The church doesn’t save you. It points you to the One who does.

So today, on Easter, come back to the center.

Not tradition.
Not routine.
Not expectation.

👉 Jesus.

Believe in Him.
Trust in Him.
Follow Him.

Because He is the only One who can save. 💎

Action (5 Minutes with God)

Take 5 simple minutes today to go straight to the Source. Ask Him:

  • Lord, what do You want me to know about this today?”
    • Write down what He reveals to you.
  • Then ask, “What do You want me to do?”
    • He will direct your path. Always write down what He reveals – then do it!

Sit with Him for a few minutes today. Thank Him and let truth settle deep. Let Him be your Source.

Prayer

Jesus, thank You for the cross and for the empty tomb. Thank You that You alone made a way for my salvation. Forgive me for any place I’ve put my trust in anything other than You—whether in people, systems, or my own efforts. Reveal it all to me, so my eyes may be opened to You. Today, I come back to the truth: You alone are my Savior. I believe in You. I trust in You. And I choose to follow You. In Your name beautiful name I pray, amen.
