Today’s One Year Bible Verses: 1 Samuel 1:1–2:21, John 5:1–23, Psalm 105:37–45, Proverbs 14:28–29
Eternity Starts Now
We tend to think of “forever” as something distant—something far off that we’ll deal with someday. Something reserved for heaven, for later, for the end of the story.
But God doesn’t measure time the way we do.
He gently shifts our understanding in today’s Gem:
“Forever seems like a long time, but time doesn’t matter in my kingdom, so forever is simply joy together that doesn’t end. Amen”
Forever isn’t about the length of time—it’s about the depth of relationship.
It’s not just something you step into one day.
It’s something you begin living now.
We see this in Hannah’s story. She didn’t just pray a quick prayer—she poured out her heart before the Lord. “Hannah was in deep anguish, crying bitterly as she prayed to the Lord” (1 Samuel 1:10, NLT). And in that place of surrender, something shifted. Not just her circumstances—but her relationship with God.
Her time in His presence mattered. It carried weight beyond that moment. It led to purpose, to promise, to legacy.
In John 5, Jesus reveals something even deeper about this “forever” life: “I tell you the truth, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned… they have already passed from death into life” (John 5:24, NLT).
Have eternal life. Not will have someday—have.
Eternity doesn’t begin when this life ends.
It begins the moment you believe.
That means every moment you spend with Him now is not temporary—it’s eternal. Every prayer, every time you turn toward Him, every quiet moment in His presence is part of something that never ends.
Psalm 105 reminds us of His ongoing faithfulness: “He brought his people out of Egypt… and gave them the lands of pagan nations” (Psalm 105:37, 44, NLT). What God starts, He carries forward. His plans don’t expire. They unfold across generations, across time, into eternity.
What God is building in you isn’t just for now.
It’s for forever.
So the moments you spend with Him today? They matter more than you realize. They’re not small. They’re not just part of your daily routine. They are the beginnings of a beautiful relationship that will continue beyond time itself.
They are eternal investments into a relationship that will never end.
And one day, what you’ve been building with Him in the unseen will be fully revealed—but it started here, in the quiet, ordinary moments where you chose Him. 💎
Action (5 Minute with God)
Take time to be with God today, even if its only 5 minutes. Ask Him:
- “Lord, What do You want me to know about this today personally?”
- Write down what He reveals to you.
- Then ask, “What do You want me to do?”
- Write down what He reveals – then do it!
Slow down today and intentionally spend time with Him—not rushed, not distracted, but present.
Prayer
Lord, thank You that forever with You isn’t distant—it begins now. Thank You for giving me greater understanding of things beyond what man can comprehend – You make the complicated so simple to understand. Thank You for caring enough about me that You would want to be with me forever. Help me to value time with You more and grow in deeper relationship each day. I know You are the answer and the way. I love You, Lord. Please envelop me in Your unfailing love today. Amen.
