The Guide Through the Labyrinth

Today’s One Year Bible Verses: 1 Kings 2:1–3:2, Acts 5:1–42, Psalm 125:1–5, Proverbs 16:25

Jesus Knows the Way

Several months ago, the Lord gave me a vision in which I found myself walking through a labyrinth. Without Him, I was scared, confused, and heading toward destruction. The winding paths seemed overwhelming, and I had no sense of direction or peace. But when I found Him, everything changed. His presence calmed my fears, and I was filled with peace. He protected me, guided me through every turn, and led me safely out of the labyrinth with no missteps.

The vision reminded me that when I try to navigate life on my own, I can easily become lost, but when I keep my eyes on Jesus, He faithfully leads me in the right direction.

I thought of this when the Holy Spirit whispered this Gem of Knowledge:

“Missteps happen, but they will not lead you to destruction if you have a guide to redirect you. Let Me be your guide. Amen.”

How many times have we feared that one mistake would somehow ruin God’s plans for our lives?

We worry that we chose the wrong path, made the wrong decision, missed the right opportunity, or delayed too long. Yet God, in His mercy, is far better at redirecting than we are at wandering.

Today’s reading contains a sobering reminder in Acts 5 through the account of Ananias and Sapphira. Their downfall was not an innocent misstep but a deliberate choice to walk in deception. There is a difference between stumbling and refusing correction. God is gracious with those who seek Him, but He cannot guide someone who insists on rejecting the truth.

What encouraged me, however, was seeing the apostles continue forward despite opposition, threats, and uncertainty. They did not navigate by fear or personal wisdom. They followed God’s direction one step at a time, trusting Him to guide them through circumstances they did not fully understand.

Psalm 125 says:

“Those who trust in the Lord are as secure as Mount Zion; they will not be defeated but will endure forever.” (Psalm 125:1, NLT)

Notice that the promise is not for those who never stumble. It is for those who trust.

That truth is echoed again in Proverbs 16:25:

“There is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death.” (NLT)

Left to ourselves, we can convince ourselves that we are heading exactly where we should go. But appearances can be deceiving. That is why we need a Guide who sees what we cannot.

I’m learning that God’s plans are not as fragile as my mistakes. He knows how to redirect. He knows how to restore. He knows how to lead us back when we drift.

Faith means placing our confidence in the One who oversees the entire labyrinth when we can only see what is right in front of us.

Even when the road twists in ways we do not understand, we can walk forward with peace, knowing that God is not surprised by our detours. He is able to lead, correct, and guide us all the way to the destination He has prepared.

Because a misstep is not the same as destruction when you are walking with the One who knows the way. 💎

Action (5 Minutes with God)

Take at least 5 minutes to be with God today. Ask Him:

  • Lord, what do You want me to know about this personally?”
    • Journal what He gives you through His Holy Spirit.
  • Then ask, “What do You want me to do?”
    • Journal what He reveals – then do it!

Let today be a day of redirection with God.

Prayer

Father, thank You for being a faithful Guide. Thank You that my future is not dependent upon perfect decisions, but upon Your loving leadership. Help me trust You when I stumble and remain sensitive to Your correction when I drift. Redirect my steps whenever I begin to wander, and teach me to follow Your voice above all others. Thank You for Your mercy, Your patience, and Your faithfulness to lead me safely home. In Jesus’ name, amen.
