Today’s One Year Bible Verses: Judges 21:1–Ruth 1:22, John 4:4–42, Psalm 105:1–15, Proverbs 14:25
Believe Before You See
There’s a quiet struggle many people carry—they want to believe God, but they’re waiting to see something first.
Many Christians don’t want to admit it, but deep down, they don’t think miracles happen for them because they are still relying on themselves. So they look for proof, movement, change.
They want God to move in the ways they think He should move so they can feel validated in their belief.
But the Lord gently challenges that mindset with today’s Gem of Knowledge: “How come you still don’t believe me? Is it because you do not see? Even the blind man believed I could do anything. Believe me so I can perform miracles for you. Amen”
Belief doesn’t come after the miracle. And miracles don’t happen by us—they happen through us, by Him.
It’s Him.
Belief comes first—belief in Him and the truth that it is Him in us.
In John 4, the Samaritan woman didn’t have everything figured out. Her life was messy, her understanding was incomplete, and yet something in her recognized truth when she heard it. Jesus told her things no one else could know, and instead of pulling back in doubt, she leaned in.
Scripture tells us, “The woman left her water jar beside the well and ran back to the village, telling everyone” (John 4:28, NLT). She didn’t wait for full confirmation. She didn’t pause until everything made sense. She believed—and then she moved.
And because of that, others believed too: “Many Samaritans from the village believed in Jesus because the woman had said, ‘He told me everything I ever did!’” (John 4:39, NLT).
Her faith didn’t just change her life—it opened the door for others.
We see this same thread in Ruth. When everything looked uncertain, she made a decision without knowing the outcome: “Wherever you go, I will go; wherever you live, I will live” (Ruth 1:16, NLT). She chose faithfulness before she saw provision—and God honored it in ways she couldn’t have imagined.
Faith isn’t about having all the evidence.
It’s about trusting the One who speaks.
Psalm 105 reminds us to anchor ourselves in what He has already done: “Remember the wonders he has performed, his miracles, and the rulings he has given” (Psalm 105:5, NLT). When you remember His faithfulness, it strengthens your ability to believe Him again—even before you see the outcome.
If you wait until you see it, you may miss what He’s trying to do.
But when you believe Him first, you position yourself to witness the miracle. 💎
Action (5 Minutes with God)
Take 5 minutes to be with the Lord today. Ask Him:
- “Lord, What do You want me to know about this today personally?”
- Write down what He reveals to you.
- Then ask, “What do You want me to do?”
- Write down what He reveals – then do it!
Allow Him to increase your faith, so you will see miracles!
Prayer
Lord, forgive me for holding back belief until I see results. Forgive me for not understanding what You are really willing to do for me. Erase my doubt, Lord. Increase my faith and understanding so I can walk boldly in You and all You promise me. Help me trust You fully, even when I don’t fully understand. Strengthen my faith so I can walk in what You’re ready to do. Amen.
