Behold the Glory of the Lamb

There are some words from the Lord that make you stop and sit with them for a moment. Today’s Gem of Knowledge did that for me:

“Behold the glory of the Lamb. You will see Me in My glory very soon. Not now or tomorrow, but very soon, and you will be blessed.”

What a promise!

I don’t know what the Lord means by “very soon.” Scripture tells us that no one knows the day or hour of Christ’s return, and I don’t want to put a timetable on words He hasn’t given us. But whether we see Jesus at His return or at the end of our own earthly lives, one thing is certain: the day is coming when faith will become sight. We will see Him.

And what will matter then?

Today’s reading begins with King Hezekiah reopening the doors of the Temple after his father, Ahaz, had shut them. Hezekiah didn’t merely acknowledge that things had gone wrong; he called the priests and Levites to consecrate themselves, cleanse the Temple, and restore worship.

What struck me is the urgency. Hezekiah became king at twenty-five, and in the very first month of the first year of his reign, he opened the Temple doors and repaired them. He didn’t wait until governing became less busy. Restoring the worship of God came first.

There is something in that for us.

If we truly believe we will see Jesus, then perhaps we should ask whether there are any doors in our own hearts that need reopening. Have other things crowded out worship? Have we allowed compromise, distraction, bitterness, or complacency to accumulate in places that belong to God?

Not because we should be afraid to meet Him—but because we love Him and want to be ready.

Psalm 24 almost sounds like a trumpet announcing the King:

“Open up, ancient gates! Open up, ancient doors, and let the King of glory enter.” (Psalm 24:7, NLT)

Then comes the question:

“Who is the King of glory?”

“The LORD, strong and mighty; the LORD, invincible in battle.” (Psalm 24:8, NLT)

Can you imagine?

The Jesus we know now by faith—the One we pray to, worship, follow, cry to, and seek in the quiet places—is the King of glory! One day we won’t simply sense His presence or hear His voice in our spirit.

We will behold Him.

That changes how I want to live today.

Romans 14 reminds us that “each of us will give a personal account to God” (Romans 14:12, NLT). This should be an eye-opening statement for us. What will we say about our lives when we stand before God? And Paul wasn’t using that truth to encourage believers to police everyone else’s lives either.. In fact, the chapter says almost the opposite. Stop condemning one another. Stop arguing over disputable matters. Remember that we each belong to the Lord.

When we remember that we will stand before Jesus ourselves, we become less concerned with evaluating everybody else and more concerned with getting the beam out of our own eye so we can faithfully follow Him (Matthew 7:3-5).

Paul says, “For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 14:17, NLT)

That’s the life I want Him to find me living.

Not obsessing over dates. Not watching the sky in fear. Not arguing about whether someone else’s walk is perfect.

Worshiping.

Loving.

Serving.

Listening.

Following Jesus.

Proverbs 20:12 says, “Ears to hear and eyes to see—both are gifts from the LORD.” (NLT). Today, that verse feels especially beautiful.

Lord, give us ears to hear You now and eyes fixed upon You until the day we finally see You face-to-face.

The King of glory is coming.

Behold the Lamb. 💎

Action (5 Minutes with God)

Take 5 minutes to be with the Lord today. Ask Him:

• “Lord, what do You want me to know about this personally?”
  • Journal what He gives you through His Holy Spirit.
• Then ask, “What do You want me to do?”
  • Journal what He reveals – then do it!

Let today be a day of reopening, cleaning out, or restoring. Then worship Him—not out of fear, but with anticipation. We are preparing to meet Someone we love.

Prayer

Dear Lord Jesus, You are the Lamb of God and the King of glory. Thank You for the promise that one day I will see You as You truly are. Prepare my heart to be ready for You. Show me anything that has taken Your place or distracted me from loving You fully, and help me surrender it. Give me ears to hear You, eyes fixed upon You, and a life filled with goodness, peace, and joy in Your Spirit. Until faith becomes sight, help me live faithfully, love generously, and worship You wholeheartedly. I long for the day I behold Your glory. This I pray in Your beautiful name Jesus Christ, Yeshua, my King, amen.
