Today’s One Year Bible Verses: Jeremiah 49:23–50:46 | Titus 1:1–16 | Psalm 97:1–98:9 | Proverbs 26:13–16
You Are God’s Masterpiece
I am still reeling from such an amazing weekend spent with so many incredible women! As I reflect on our time together, one thing stands out to me: so many of these beautiful women don’t even realize just how beautiful they truly are, both inside and out.
And when the Lord gave me today’s Gem of Knowledge, I knew it was for all of us!
Today’s Gem of Knowledge is such a beautiful reminder of that truth:
“Underneath all the makeup and masks is the most beautiful creation: you. Don’t ever let the world convince you that you aren’t. I hand created you as My masterpiece. Never forget that. Never forget Me. I am your Creator, Master, Teacher, and Guide. Amen.”
WOW! Think about that for a moment. The Creator of the universe personally designed you! You aren’t an accident, an afterthought, or a mistake. You are His creation, made with intention and purpose.
First Samuel 16:7 reminds us that while people judge by outward appearance, the Lord looks at the heart. He sees beyond everything we use to impress others or hide our insecurities. He sees the person He created and loves.
But something else caught my attention in today’s Gem: the word Master.
When I first thought about that word, my mind went to someone who controls a slave. But then I looked up its definitions in the dictionary, and WOW! There was so much more!
A master can be a teacher, a revered religious leader, a skilled artisan qualified to teach apprentices, an accomplished artist, a ruler, or someone who has achieved victory.
Now think about those meanings in relation to God!
He is our Teacher, the One who reveals truth and wisdom. He is the Master Artisan who carefully formed us and the universe. He is our King, whose authority is greater than any earthly power. And He is the Victor, who has overcome sin and death through Jesus Christ!
What a beautiful difference there is between the world’s understanding of mastery as domination verses the loving authority of our Heavenly Father.
In today’s reading from Jeremiah, God declares judgment against Babylon, a powerful nation that had exalted itself and oppressed others. Yet even Babylon, with all its earthly authority, could not stand against the Lord.
Psalm 97:1 (NLT) declares:
“The LORD is king! Let the earth rejoice! Let the farthest coastlands be glad.”
Our Master is not simply powerful. He is righteous, just, and good!
And in Titus 1, Paul emphasizes the importance of sound teaching, godly character, and living according to the truth. What a reminder that following our Master means allowing Him to shape not only what we believe but also how we live.
After all, what does an apprentice do? They spend time with the master, observing, listening, learning, and practicing until their work begins to reflect the one teaching them.
Isn’t that a beautiful picture of our relationship with Jesus?
We are His workmanship, and He continues shaping us as we surrender ourselves to His instruction. We don’t have to pretend to be someone else or strive to meet the world’s expectations. We simply need to remain close to the One who knows exactly who He created us to be.
And here’s something I don’t want us to miss. Today’s Gem doesn’t just say, “Never forget that.” It also says, “Never forget Me.”
Because our worth isn’t found in our appearance, accomplishments, or the approval of others. It’s rooted in the One who created us.
So the next time you look in the mirror, don’t focus on everything you wish you could change. Remember whose hands created you, whose heart loves you, and whose wisdom is available to guide you.
You are His masterpiece, and there’s no better Master to entrust your life to! 💎
Action (5 Minutes with God)
Take 5 minutes to be with the Lord today. Ask Him:
- “Lord, what do You want me to know about this personally?”
- Journal what He gives you through His Holy Spirit.
- Then ask, “What do You want me to do?”
- Journal what He reveals – then do it!
Let today be the day you stop measuring yourself against the world’s standards and begin appreciating the masterpiece God created!
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for creating me with such love, care, and purpose. Forgive me for the times I’ve compared myself to others or allowed the world’s opinions to determine my worth. Help me remember that I am Your workmanship, handcrafted by the Master Himself. Teach me to recognize Your voice, trust Your authority, and follow Your guidance. Continue shaping my heart and character so my life reflects Your goodness. May I never forget who I am in You, and most importantly, may I never forget You. In Jesus’ precious name I pray, amen.
